Even before Oct 7, we would have been very moved by the presentation. The message is a clear one in my Christian family as well, that human beings are capable of doing unimaginable evil things, and that survivors who are affected by such acts are never the same, but there is still hope and no real option but to go on and try to be a little better in spite of the wrongs that were done. I was pleased to see the value of education showcased quite clearly in the film and I tell this to all my students having experienced war myself: Take your education and use it to make the world just a little bit better. Perhaps one day there will be no more pain and no more evil, God willing, but we'll never get there if we don't all educate ourselves and do our part to make it happen. The testimony is incredibly moving, the words blended with the images are beautiful, poignant, searingly painful, uplifting and motivating. The major accomplishment of this video is to convey the pain of survivors and 2nd generation survivors and to show (perhaps uniquely - because I haven't seen anything like it) how the Holocaust had many impacts beyond the horror of the camps.
